It seems like we have to have Microsoft Office installed to view DOCs in the viewer pane. I´m using a portable
version of Open Office (quite rarely). All i get at the moment is some Hex style display. Is there a way to
view the contents through OO in the display? I have to add, the DOCs i want to view are not common DOC files,
but scans from some book. So maybe that´s the reason?
Microsoft Office (tested) and (I expect) QuickView Plus provide viewers for OpenOffice documents.
OpenOffice itself has a viewer but it has been left to rot for years and does not work, unless something has changed quite recently. (You'd need a non-portable version anyway, since the viewer would need to be installed for anything else to find it.)
Hmm, ok, no problem. I was just wondering, if there is a quirk to get it to run.
Maybe i´ll give the installed version a try.
