Firstly, what is the name of this capability? Where are it's settings, on/off look & feel etc.
Hopefully I will be able to change the indent, however searching preferences for "indent" only finds the folder tree indent.
on/off is found in Preferences -> File Displays ->Folder Expansion.
Sorry, I don't think there is an easy solution to a custom indent at this time, but perhaps I'm wrong .
I'm not sure at all where you are getting these up and down arrows from.
