How to avoid duplicate tabs of the same folder?

With me, folders are opened in a new tab. Whilst organizing I went back and forth in folders resulting numerous tabs open in the end.

Whilst closing tabs, one by one, I noticed there were two identical tabs, or maybe even more(?)

Q: Is there a setting to avoid this?
i.e. when the same folder is opened for the 2nd time, then Opus to jump to the existing tab.

Thanks.

This command should provide the result you want:

Go NEWTAB=findexisting FROMSEL

Thanks. I have seen this command already somewhere, but how to make this default behavior?
So, when I click on a folder and the tab already exists, then the existing tab should be used.

Clicking in a folder doesn’t normally open a tab, so you must’ve changed that already. This would be used on the same way.

If we’re talking about clicking things in the Folder Tree, there is a Preferences section all about that where you can make the change.

Many thanks !

Unable to reproduce the 'issue' - when closing tabs (see my first post) at some point I was sure to be closing x:\PDF and then again x:\PDF, hence my assumption that Opus opens a new tab even when selecting the same folder.

However, Opus doesn't do that, it selects an existing tab.

Sorry for jumping to the wrong conclusion and posting too quickly: I should have tested it again before doing so.
