How to change Selected File Background Color in Lister?

Hi, new DO user here.
I've modified my default view nicely but need one last thing:

How do I change the background color and row of selected text? I cannot find the options and the one article in the forums referencing this from 2009 says it cannot be done. (then)

I'm basically trying to replicate the standard windows 10 dark mode as shown in the picture below when I hover/mouse away from DO. You can see Explorer and DO side by side. Explorer has the nice gray bar showing the last file selected. In DO, it remains undifferentiated.

Preferences / Display / Colors and Fonts / Files and folders

If there is a link at the bottom that says the selection colors are overridden, click it for the option to change that.
