how to create a button for open windows "Run" Dialog box?
Do you need the Windows run dialog specifically, or do you just want to run a command?
You can type >
or ?
into the file display and then type a command to run them. (The first runs things normally; the second runs them in a Command Prompt.)
I need the Windows run dialog specifically
Win+R
will open that. I am not sure if there is an easy way to open it via a toolbar button, but since you'll presumably be typing anyway, using a hotkey may be better anyway.
Why do you need the Windows Run dialog specifically? Does it do something which running things via other methods doesn't, that we could improve?
winver, dxdiag there is more run command doesn't work in file display toolbar, i try them with > as you say. Thanks by the way.
If I type >winver
into the file display, it works fine.
You need to type into the actual file display, not the file display toolbar.
When you type the >
, the Find-As-You-Type field will appear at the bottom of the file display, in command mode. It's different to the location bar that's always visible at the top of the window.
my bad, bad, now it's work fine!! Thanks Leo
