How to disable numerical sorting in Opus 12?

Using the Group Policy Editor, it was possible to 'disable' numerical sorting of file names. Windows now sorts all file names literally.

Instead of sorting like this: 22, 45, 109, 204
It now sorts like this: 109, 204, 22, 45

Windows 10 File Explorer and all dialog screens are now using literal sorting. Some of us crusty old-timers prefer this method.

However, Opus 12 still sorts my files using numerical sorting. I've searched the Opus preferences and cannot find a way to disable numerical sorting.

If it's possible, can you tell me how to do it?

Thanks for your help and time.

Jerry

In the Folder Format or Folder Options, Numeric order filename sorting is the setting you want to turn off.

Folder > Folder Options, if using the default toolbars:

Leo,

Thanks for your help.

I was trying to find this setting under 'Settings/Preferences' and that setting wasn't there. I had to go to 'Folder/Folder Options' on the toolbar.

Sorry for taking up your valuable time.

Apologies for reviving an old thread. This is to further help people with getting DOpus to match the sort order that Windows 10's File Explorer and Open/Save As dialogs show.

In addition to turning off "Numeric order filename sorting", I also needed to turn on "Word sort (special handling for hyphens, etc)".

In my case, here's what was happening:

In DOpus, I was getting this order:
ProjectName-SomeInfo
ProjectName - SomeInfo

In File Explorer and file dialogs (Open and Save As), I was getting this order:
ProjectName - SomeInfo
ProjectName-SomeInfo

Without reading the filename, I would click the third file in the dialogs because I had just worked on that file via DOpus and knew it was in the third position, only to discover I'd opened the wrong one.
