How to fix generic EXE file icons?

I was messing around with labels and using them to change icons based on filetype groups. I added a label to a group that contained .exe files, then realized how silly that is, so I removed it, but now all my .exe files have a generic icon. I have deleted the label, the wildcard label assignment, and filetype group associated with .exe files, then I purged my (Win 10) icon cache and restarted my computer, but it didn't help.

Any ideas how to fix this? I'm certain there are no longer any labels associated with these files. Explorer shows the proper icons, so it's definitely a DOpus thing...

Is Preferences / Folders / Folder Display / Show generic icons for... turned on?

What does the General > Label column show for those files?

Preferences / Folders / Folder Display / Show generic icons for… was on for all folders. Turning it off fixed it.

I've been playing around a lot today, I guess I turned that on not realizing what it does. Oops!

But that's how we learn, right? By breaking things and asking Leo to help us fix them
