In windows explorer when files are pasted into new folder, they are added at bottom and windows explorer will scroll to bottom of folder to focus and select items.
How can this be achieved in Directory opus?
Directory opus can add files to bottom instead of sorting, but the new files are not focused or selected.
I also have problems when adding new files to a dir. I get confused and don't know where they appeared.
Yes, this is an option that should be built in.
It serves a functional purpose in letting user know that action has happened/completed.
If you paste into folder with many files, you can't tell whether command went through or not. If you're on laptop using trackpad sometimes you will click wrong area, but there is no visual difference between clicking out of dropdown menu area vs clicking on paste command.
Also sometimes i accidentally click 'paste shortcut' instead of 'paste'. Unless you scroll down to look at results, you wouldn't realize this. In windows explorer you will notice this mistake immediately because results of paste are shown to you.
We'll look at adding this in the next major upgrade.

Also wanted to add that a similarly useful visual indicator is that when you cut items in windows explorer, the item rows will fade out
Only the icon fades out for me in Explorer, the same as in Opus.
It seems that this feature doesn't always work.
I also thought I fades out but now I tried and it doesn't. And I also remember some time having problems with this.
