Is there any option somewhere to limit/disable file types for viewer Pane?
I have viewer pane enabled because it gives a preview for almost every selected file.
But sometimes I mis-select a mp3 or mp4 file which viewer pane starts to play the music or the movie. Is there any way to ask viewer pane don't play media file, but show me let's say pdf & txt and this and that?

I have this. and all media plugins are unchecked. Still viewer pane plays movies and music files .
Is there anything else I have to un-tick?
According to your link, Moive is already un-ticked and I don't have Generic ActiveX 32-bit. What else I have to check?

Configure the ActiveX + Preview + Office + Web plugin, and remove any extensions you don't want to work in the viewer from there.
It's too tricky. Why it's buried so deep in the settings?

We could simplify things a lot by removing options entirely, but then this might be the type of option we removed if we did that. 
In File Explorer, the same thing is controlled via registry settings.
