When search for words that are into Open Office documents, Directory Opus don't find them.
The reason is : Open Office documents are XML files and folders, that are zipped, into one .odt or .ods file.
If you rename an Open Office document into .zip and allow Directory Opus to look into zip files, then Directory Opus successfully find the words into Open Office documents!
So, is there a way to tell Directory Opus to consider .odt, .ods, etc. files as .zip files when it performs search?
I'm not sure if that effects search or not but give it a try. If it doesn't help try submitting a feature request at the GPSoftware site. Click the blue Support for users of GPSoftware's Directory Opus link at the top of this page.
