How to set 'Recent Locations' to include non-panel accesses

I use a single panel exclusively because it gives more information at a glance. This is the most efficient way to go through files most of the time. I do a lot of file copying/moving, and I've found that adding a 'Move to' and 'Copy to' option to the context menu and browsing to the location where I wish to put the files is more efficient than opening two panels, going to the location, dragging the files over and then going back to a single panel. This works especially well with the 'Favorites' menu, but not so well with 'Recent Locations'. Actually, the I don't find the 'Recent Locations' menu very useful at all. Is there a way to get the 'Recent Locations' menu to list the locations I've most recently accessed during ANY file operation, including copy/move operations that don't involve going there with a panel? After all, these are also recently accessed locations.
For example, if I recently performed a copy/move to a location and wish to go back there because I have more files or the files I copied/moved were to be added to a zip at that location. I would have to bounce through directories with 'Copy to/Move to' to get there again in the first case or go through the folder panel again in the later case because 'Recent Locations' only works with panel locations. In other words, I would have to go to the folder at least once through the panel interface before that location will be available in the 'Recent Locations' list.

The recent list only lists folders you've visited in listers, but I see what you mean. If you run Copy TO=ask and select a path in the tree that pops-up, it would make sense for that path to be added to the Recent drop-down at the top of the pop-up window.

Drop GPSoft a feature request and see what they think.

So, Nudel, are you suggesting that the aforementioned problem rises above the level of mere 'user incomprehension' to actual 'bug'? And if it is a bug, to where do I complain? Or, if this issue is a incomplete machination by design, should I make a request to expand the facility of the 'Recent Locations' service as a 'new feature' request in the appropriate section of the forum?

There's no bug here so it's a feature request.

There's no need to create a Feature Request thread in the forums. The forums are only for discussing ideas and fleshing them out (or checking whether they're already possible) before filing an actual request via the form on GPSoftware's website. The idea seems pretty clear-cut from this thread already so you might as well submit it to GPSoft now and see what they think.

Have you looked at the SmartFavorites feature.
