How to setup a folder collection in a separate pane under the tree like in XYplorer?

This is my setup in XYplorer

The lower pane is just the folders I use the most. Since they're separate they don't interfere with the tree view and it makes it super handy to reach the places I click the most. I found the Favorites folder more clunky and I was wondering if this is doable in DO.

An easy way to do that is to pin folders to Quick Access .
Directory Opus can then display Quick Access almost anywhere you want in the folder tree.
See Preferences / Folder Tree / Contents to do this.

Naturally though, with Directory Opus there are many other solutions to this problem.
This one is particularly easy.

Nope, quick access is not what I want because I have the folder tree setup in a way where they expand and collapse automatically based on what folder is focused. I want my favorite folders to be always accessible no matter the state of the Folder tree. I tried the favorite toolbar but having them horizontally isn't quite what I wanted

You can make the toolbar vertical if you like.

Perhaps Libraries ?

I recommended Opus on social media and a few people asked me how to add things like toolbars below the tree control.

How do I set this up in XY?

Is this the sort of feature request folks are moving towards?

A new vertical "panel" where a resizable portion of it is the current tree feature and the other resizable portion is something like the favorites feature.

Just an accessible way to click my favorite folders, nothing much nothing less. Just adding another separate panel under tree view would be great

The Favorites Bar gives you that. You can move it to the side if you want.

I made this vertical toolbar like you suggested, is there a way to make the text and the icon be smaller so they fit in a single line each?
This is how it looks right now:

This is how I'd like it to look:
