I know the movie viewer plugin has caused numerous issues over the years but I just wanted to report an issue that I just saw even in the latest version of DOpus.
From a fresh reboot and start of DOpus, with the movie viewer enabled if I got to a network drive which has movie files in it (but shown in commander mode) memory usage is normal. However, if I then change the ordering of the files to display by date the memory usage jumps from 25mb to 1.9gig!
If I disable the movie viewer plugin and restart this issue does not occur.
Is this a known issue and is there any plans to fix it? I am kind of assuming that this may not be down to Opus but the codec which is being loaded to parse the movie file headers perhaps or something to do with my actual movie files perhaps. Therefore, if this is something that can't be fixed within Opus I totally understand.
It's most likely a codec issue, as you suspect. Quite strange that changing the sort order has an effect but I suspect that is just changing which order Opus is inspecting the files (to generate the Description column or similar, if you have anything like that turned on) and it'd still happen eventually if you waited.
If you turn off all columns that cause Opus/plugins to inspect file contents in your format(s) for network drives (or the specific folders you're having problem in) you might be able avoid the problem without turning off the movie plugin.
You could try tracking it down to a particular file or type of files which may then make it easy to tell which codec is involved and needs updating/replacing.
I clearly remember your packs being up on Aminet and grabbing them every time. Used to love getting new icons with the MUI look - that was the kind of style that inspired alot of icon design wasn't it, or am I confusing myself..
