Icon vs. png (48x48)

because of the different 4 updates (same icon, I don't like it)
a new representation was created for each of them.

although the *.icon and the *.png have the same size, are they displayed at different heights in the toolbar?

Is that correct?

The way .ico files are loaded by the OS means you can only have certain sizes of them. (You can turn on 48x48 but would have to lose another.)

Using PNG is recommended if you want other sizes.

ok

you can't see any difference

large = 48x48?

Windows large and small icon size are 32x32 and 16x16, multiplied by DPI scaling.

But those sizes don’t matter if you’re using PNG icons.

Icon sets can map the large and small sizes to whatever they want.
