Idea: Associate groups with layouts - fast access group menu items

Hello again,

meanwhile I'm using more than 120 listers for my daily work. I want to avoid using much more due to understandable reasons like clarity. Therefore I want to switch between different groups in a certain lister. I have already over 40 groups, well-structured in many nested folders.
But selecting a certain group in that tree is very time consuming. Hence my idea for a feature to associate groups with layouts and show these fast access groups as top menu items in the tabs context menu just before the Groups menu item. With numbers [1]-[0] as hotkeys for the first ten menu items.

As a short term solution I could use the custom description of an layout to define an alias to a list of fast access group menu items. I'm already using AutoHotkey for showing an dialog for selecting a lister and could add that group management accordingly.

Any comments/suggestions are welcome!

Many thanks and greetings

Do you mean 120 lister layouts, and 40 folder tab groups, or something different?

Hello Leo,

yep, exactly - 120 lister layouts, and 40 folder tab groups!

You could have a different toolbar in each layout, with individually-made buttons for each tab group that you wanted. It'd work, but it'd probably be a pain to set up, unless it was automated in some way (everything is XML at the end of the day).
