I exported my preferences from my old laptop and then imported them on a new one (I get new laptop or new Win images about every 6 months). Along with this new laptop I got a new UserID as well. I've found that importing the Dopus preferences will create an entry in the [C:\Documents and Settings<user>\Local Settings\Application Data...] with my old userID.
Is there a way to modify the prefs file and do a find-and-replace on my userID so that this doesn't happen?
FYI, It looks like the only folder that is created is one for [...\Thumbnail Cache].
I've seen this as well (and I probably forgot to report it while in a rush to setup my new machine).
You can fix it by going to Preferences / Listers / Thumbnails, clicking Settings... and adjusting the cache path.
After doing that you should be able to delete the extra folder that was created. (If it's in use, restart Opus and then try deleting it again.)
Of course it would be better if Opus recognised that the cache folder was inside the user profile, at least when doing a Preferences export, so you didn't have to do this at all. Until then, it's a one-off change that needs to be made when importing to another user-id.
(To my knowledge this is the only thing you have to change in this way. All other paths are correctly relative to the profile folder, apart from, say, saved Folder Formats for the profile folders or whatever.)
