Independent toolbars

I currently have DOpus configured with two drive button bars. One bar lives on the left and the other on the right.
I use the Dual lister toggle button to turn on/off the dual lister mode.
When a DOpus window is in single lister mode then only the right hand drive button bar is shown.
When a DOpus window is in dual lister mode then both the left and right drive button bars are shown.

The problem I have is that when multiple DOpus windows are open.
Say I have the following windows open:

  1. A dual lister the C:\ on the left and D:\ on the right. Both drive button bars are available.
  2. A dual lister with E:\ on the left and F: on the right. Both drive button bars are available.

In Window 2 I make the left hand lister active (E:) and then click the Dual lister toggle button I expect the following to happen:

  1. the window will be in Dual lister mode with C:\ on the left, D: on the right and both drive button bars available
  2. the window will be in single lister mode with E:\ as the only lister and a single drive button bar on the right

What actually happens is this:

  1. the window is in dual lister mode with C:\ on the left, D: on the right HOWEVER only the right button bar is available
  2. the window is in single lister mode with E:\ as the only lister and a single drive button bar on the right

So, what is happening is that ALL of the left drive tool bars are being shown or hidden and not the toolbar from the current lister window.
Is there any way to get the functionality I require?

Steve

The Toolbar command has a LOCAL argument for opening toolbars only in the active lister, not in all other listers.

(You also need to use the argument when closing toolbars which were opened by using LOCAL previously. And note that you cannot currently close a global toolbar in only one window; so you can add toolbars to individual windows and later remove the same toolbars but you cannot remove any of the starting toolbars from a single window without affecting all the others.)

Ah thanks for that, I wasn't aware of that option.

The problem now is when I close the last lister window and then open a new lister window...

When the last lister window closed was Single lister mode:
The new lister opens up in single lister mode as expected but no button bar on the right is displayed.
I have to click twice on the dual lister toggle button now: once to put the lister into Dual mode (shows left and right drive bars) and then again to put it into single lister mode (drive bar on the right)

When the last lister window closed was Dual lister mode:
The new lister opens up in Dual lister mode as expected but neither left or right button bars are displayed.
I have to click twice on the dual lister toggle button now: once to put the lister into Single mode (drive bar on the right) and then again to put it into Dual lister mode (shows left and right drive bars)

Is there any way around this?

Cheers,

Steve

From your comments, I suppose you have the Preferences / Launching Opus / Default Lister / Update Default Lister automatically when closing a Lister option enabled. But toolbars (whether 'global' or 'local' aren't saved as part of lister layouts. It has been requested, along with other refinements to toolbar handling though...
