On 8.2.2.4U on an XP system, Info Tip settings for files in a collection do not respect the All Files or All Files and Folders settings. They are constantly set to Type:, Author:, Date Modified:, and Size:.
I want to add Path:. I have dug around and cannot find anywhere where collection info tips can be customised. Have I missed where this is buried, or are info tips for collections simply not customisable.
Files in collections get the same info tips as files out of collections, at least here.
Is the file's info tip what you expect outside of a collection?
Check that there isn't a more specific filetype which matches the file you're looking at and has an infotip defined. Opus will use the info tip from the most specific filetype which can be applied to the file, unless the type has no info tip at all, in which case it'll try the next most specific filetype, and so on.
The setting of Prefs / Listers / File Display: Enable file InfoTips in... may also matter.
I believed I had performed adequate due diligence but I should have tested with another filetype before I posted. All the files in my test case are .xls. I looked up .xls in the File Types section and no Info Tips are defined. What I failed to spot lurking to the right of the .xls Description is the Group field which is set to Documents and of course Documents Info Tips are defined as..
