In Windows 7, the infotip for files in a Library in a lister behaves differently than the infotip for the file in the actual folder. When the file displayed is part of a Library, all you get is the file name no matter what settings in File Types are in use.
It seems to work okay here. (See screenshot below; Opus 10.0.2.0)
If you trigger the tooltip before the file's information has been populated, you may get a generic tooltip (since the rest of the info isn't known yet). Since libraries typically have lots of files in them, it might take longer for the file in question to be reached than normal, which is possibly why you're seeing it in libraries but not in other folders. (Turn on a column such as Dimensions or Description to see when the file's data has been read. You'll see the column be populated down the list of files after entering the directory.)
Thanks for checking into this. The delay for file info population you mentioned is part of the problem. Waiting helped. The remaining part of the problem, though, is MOV files. I have no idea why just this file format is affected. The screenshot below is of a DOpus 10 lister showing a library.
If I switch to details view, then the dimensions, duration and video codec columns never populate. Possible interference from Quicktime?
Does that info populate for mov files in normal folders? I don't think Opus currently knows how to get the dimensions etc. from the mov container format.
You're right, leo. MOV files don't populate those columns in the regular folders, either.
There is one final behavior that DOpus10 apparently doesn't allow regarding infotips, unless I'm once again missing a setting in file types. I use a program called MediaInfo to show information about video and audio files. It has a feature that allows it to show codec information via a tooltip in Windows Explorer. MediaInfo's tooltip information appears in DOpus' infotips when regular folders are displayed in a lister (including MOV files), but DOpus is somehow preventing that tooltip information to appear when a library is displayed in a lister.
I know this is 3rd-party interoperability type stuff, but can you or anyone else think of a reason why the MediaInfo tooltip info won't show up when a library is displayed in a lister?
Yes, {infotip} is in the File Type definition for "Movie" files, and I checked that it specifically shows up in the MOV file definition. But it's listed last -- is that a problem?
OK, "moo" showed up in both the library and the regular folder lister infotips for files matching the Movie file group.
Something is still blocking MediaInfo's tooltip information when a library is displayed in a lister, but not when a regular folder is displayed in a lister.

Confirmed.
No need to contact support; I've filed a bug report about it.
