Intermittent 0xC0000005 error

I am getting intermittent errors whereby DOpus tells me that it has encountered an error and must restart. It usually works fine after the restart, but this morning I got five in a row before the problem magically disappeared and now I can't reproduce the problem... the worst possible scenario for a maintenance programmer, I know!

I recorded one instance of the error as thread 0x4E80 address 0x75C07DD4

I was attempting to open the VLC media player by clicking on an .mp4 file (two or three files were involved)

I am running DOpus Version 10.1.0.0.4570.x86 on Windows 7 32 bit

Since video files are involved, the problem is almost certainly a shell extension or video codec crashing inside of Opus when Opus asks it to get information about the video files in the folder.
