Is there a better way to use Find as I Type?

I have Opus on many machines, but one I use frequently by remote desktop (RDP.) I copy the filename I am interested and then use the clipboard to "warp" that to my local machine. Now I want to find that file in the local DirOpus window. So what I do is type an "x" to bring up find as you type, then backspace to delete the x and then paste what's in my clipboard to locate the file. (There are literally thousands of files in this folder, so manual search is too slow.)

My question is: is there a better way to achieve what I am achieving that I am unaware of? Is there a "find what's in my clipboard" for example?

(Also, I have upgraded to DirOpus 13 (on one of my licenses anyway) but I don't see an easy way to update that here... is there a way?)

There are other ways you could do it, but they probably wouldn't be any faster.

It's automatic if you update the licence your account is linked to. If you've updated a different licence, let me know and I can unlink your account so that you can link it to the other one.

Try this for a little speed gain:

  1. Set Filter Bar as your default FAYT mode
  2. Create a button with the Command Set QUICKFILTER and set its hot key to Ctrl-Q
  3. Create a button with the Command Clipboard PASTE and set its hot key to Ctrl-V

Use
Load your clipboard
Hit Ctrl-Q and then Ctrl V

You will see your file

Under Preferences - Filtering and Sorting - Filter Bar, select "Match any word" and "Partial matching"
