Radio programmes was only one example for requiring such columns, but I can think of many other uses like just knowing how many times I've opened a particular image or DTP file for instance, the ability would let me know in an instant which are my most used and/or popular files or ones that maybe I've missed or prefer to ignore.
With regards to using something like iTunes, VLC or whatever, that kind of misses the point for all other types of files, and in any case, using another program to start from is not my idea of using Opus. Opus is my launcher and window in to all my digital life, if I spot something in a Lister I want to watch, listen to or review, then knowing access occurrences of when, quantity and by who would be really useful for all sorts of reasons.
In a way, I can't think why it's not a blindingly obvious requirement of the file system?! Much like a library book where it can easily be found out how many times it's been borrowed, who borrowed it, when and for how long, etc.
All we need is something hooked into the file system to keep a tally of everything. Is that at all possible?
Would love to see that feature in Opus (Opus 12 maybe!). Not that it's important for me now, but it would be great if it could track by user and even have a time based (relative) graph, then for any type of file it would easy to see who or who hasn't watched a particular show, reviewed a file or whatever.
Glad you said that about the "Accessed" column - I tried that earlier and as far as I can see it does absolutely nothing, just giving the same as in the "Modified" column and not changing a darn bit after actually accessing a file!
