I have paid for updates to DirOpus 10 & 11, however I still use version 9 for one reason.
With V9 in the folders tree colum, if I start typing "MBS" the cursor moves to the first folder with a name beginning with "MBS", it does not stop & highlight a folder with a name of "1_MBS". The behavior is then the same in the file view. Then, in eitherpane, if I type "MBS" again (after a tiny pause), the cursor moves to the next folder/file with a name beginning in "MBS".
In V12, the behavior in the Folders pane is identical. However, in the files list pane, if I type "MBS", the cursor moves to a file named "1_MBS". If after a tiny pause, I type "MBS" again, DOpus searches for "MBSMBS". Is there a setting/preference to force the V9 behavior, i.e., make the behavior the same in both the folder tree pane and the file lister pane.
[ul][li]Turn off Preferences / File Displays / FAYT and Filter Bar Options / Search anywhere in the filename to stop 1_MBS being matched and selected. (It will still be highlighted, but the selection will skip past it.)
[/li]
[li]Instead of typing MBS twice to find the second match, type MBS once, then use F3 or Tab to find further matches. Shift-F3 or Shift-Tab can be used to go in the opposite direction. (If the file display is sorted by name then the up/down cursor keys will do the same, of course.)
Preferences / File Displays / FAYT and Filter Bar Keys: FAYT close timeout can be used to adjust how long the Find-As-You-Type text field will stay open, giving you longer to wait between typing and pushing F3, if needed.[/li][/ul]
(Preferences options above are from Opus 12. They may be in slightly different places in earlier versions.)
