One of the quirks I have noticed in Directory Opus, Version 10, 64-bit, for Windows 7, is that when you have a Lister Window open, say half way covering the screen; then you maximize temporarily to work with some files; then click on the Restore button, it will not Restore to the previous size and position. The WIDTH of the Lister Window restores properly, but the DEPTH of the Lister Window wants to shorten itself; so I must re-size it again. What is causing this, and can anything be done to prevent it? This did not occur with my 32-bit version for Windows XP.
There is no difference between the 32 bit and 64 bit versions in terms of window management.
Are you using the latest version of Opus on both machines?
How much does the window size change?
Is the initial window size larger than the monitor, excluding the taskbar and anything else docked to the sides of the screen?
Do you have any tools installed which modify window behaviour, or which add buttons to the titlebars, or anything like that?
A before and after screenshot of the whole desktop might help see what's happening.
When I tried to create a series of screenshots to show what happens with the Directory Opus Window, when clicking on the Restore button after Maximizing the Lister, it did not Restore improperly as a different size as before. And I realized that I had made a change in the Preferences which I picked up from a another discussion in the Resource Center from another member; I had checked the box under Preferences/Launching Opus/Default Lister/ where it says: "Update Default Lister Automatically when closing a lister." This must of affected the Restore feature of Directory Opus and fixed it. If it is unchecked though, the window was not restoring to the same size window (vertically); it would be shorter, and not reach down to the taskbar (adjoining up to it, like most program windows) where it had originally started. But with the feature checked, it is now working properly, as far as I can see.
