Location Path Field -- Folder Open icon?

I was tinkering with shell folder icons today and I noticed that a Location Path Field
displays the closed folder icon instead of the open folder icon.

Normally, there is only a Default String Value in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Shell Icons].
It does seem though that Details and Power modes take their folder icons, unless otherwise specified, from Windows\System32\shell32.dll .
The closed folder icon is icon 3 and the open folder icon is icon 4.
This numbering begins with 0 as the first icon.

If I add string values for icons 3 and 4 to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Shell Icons],
the folder icons are replaced.
"3"="C:\Your Path\Folder-Yellow.ico"
"4"="C:\Your Path\Folder-Open.ico"

This works fine, the folder selected in the tree displays Folder-Open.ico and closed folders display Folder-Yellow.ico .
However, a Location Path Field, breadcrumbs or whatever, displays Folder-Yellow.ico .

How does DOpus determine what icon to display in a Location Path Field ?
