Howdy, I set up several locked and color-coded tabs to show my boss how useful Directory Opus was; namely to lock the directory of our development software directory, several log UNC log directories, and the Windows directory that holds the "hosts" file. Locking the tabs makes it easy to get to the files in these directories.
However, this morning, after a weekend, where my computer was shutdown and then restarted, Opus opened and all of my locked tabs were gone. Is this a bug or is this an as-designed situation, i.e. Opus does not retrain locked tabs between shutdowns?
It will retain them as long as they are saved into what you then load later. That's usually the Default Lister.
Opus may be configured to update the Default Lister automatically when you close a window, or you may need to do it manually via Settings > Set As Default Lister.
You can also save tabs into Folder Tab Groups, Styles and Layouts, which will all save the locked states as well.
Use Settings > Set As Default Lister to save your tabs as the default lister (if not already done).
(For completeness: Make sure Preferences / Launching Opus / Default Lister / Update Default Lister automatically when closing a Lister is turned off, so the default doesn't get overwritten. When you do the first step, you'll be asked if you want to turn that off.)
If you want to ensure your tabs are opened even if something else asks Opus to open a window for a particular folder, also turn on these options under Preferences / Launching Opus / Explorer Replacement:
Open external folders in a new tab
Open all Default Lister tabs when opening a new window
Little OT: @Leo do you type in those paths to the appropriate setting each time when posting here in the forum or do you have a copy and paste feature hidden elsewhere in DO?
