Long time for file deletion off of Galaxy S5

Not sure what else I can try, but I can confirm that if I delete the folder from Windows File Explorer, it deletes it straight away.

Even if you haven't deleted a folder already using Opus?

There are general suggestions here (my favorite being to use FTP instead of MTP, which avoids the USB cable, works over wifi, and is a lot more reliable):
