Lost backups - due to length of time taken to backup

Lost a day of intesive coding - even though I had backed up.
Upon investigation I discovered the backups were taking about 2 minutes to backup 147Mb !!! (I had either turned off the computer or restarted DO after backing up)
I have now turned off 'QUIET' - in my what used to quick backup button.

here is SS of backups over a few months and take note of the increase in size of backups - from 7mb to 30mb to 150mb

Unzipped a backup to see what was going on - and because I am storing scripts and associated files in the Directory Opus Script AddIns folder, I do recall transfering some test images to a recent scripts folder - so will learn from the experience and store my scripts somewhere else.

Fwiw I started using git on the whole /dopusdata folder a while ago. Did not check impact on backups (even if I think only the subfolders are backed up, not the 'root' folder itself).

Scripts alone won’t make the backup that large. There must be graphics or something that else in there for the size to grow like that, although I’m surprised it’s taking two minutes to compress what is still a fairly small amount of data, unless it’s gojng over a slow network or antivirus scanning is slowing things more than usual.

What do you want us to do with this information, in any case?

Might help as a warning not to store additional files in script-addins (like lots of images)

Store things in your config directory if you want them to be part of your config. Don't if you don't.

Things stored in the config will make the config bigger.

Bigger config means bigger config backups.

Does any of that actually need stating? It should be obvious.
