Making files in a folder hidden - make folder hidden

I used to use PowerDesk and the above subject line was very easy to
do with that program.
I realize DOpus has much more potential, which is why I bought it, but
I have a folder I want to make all the files hidden (change attribute),
and then make DOpus not see that folder, unless I want it to.

How can I easily do that?

You can use the built-in SetAttr command. There is an icon on the standard "Toolbar" tool bar which is tied to this command.

What i use with success is

Set FILTERS=Toggle HIDEFILTERATTR h
Set FILTERS=off
