This is a simple pre-purchase question, but I can't find any place to ask GPSoftware directly without requesting an evaluation code:
I need a file manager that supports the metadata saved with Windows Media Center recordings (wtv or dvr-ms formats) and allows the categories to be used as headers in the details view. Directory Opus supports many metadata items, but not the ones I need. For example I'd like to display "Broadcast Date", "HD content", "Episode title", "Length" and so forth.
If there is some add-on or magic incantation that will make this feature available, please let me know!
If not, does anybody know if GPSoftware plans to broaden its metadata support to include Microsoft's recorded tv information?
Those Media Center columns are not currently supported but I believe there is a plan to add support for them already, so keep an eye out for new versions.
I started this thread almost a year ago and am checking back to see how metadata support has progressed. The descriptions of the newest version indicate support of SOME metadata (great!), but I see no mention of WTV or mkv (specifically high definition video). Am I correct in assuming support for these formats has not yet been implemented? Any hope they will be in the near future?
Bitsdujour is having a 40% discount today, so I downloaded and installed the DOpus 10 trial version to test your metadata support.
I'm completely confused. Apparently a lot has changed since version 9.
I saw no way to add WTV metadata columns. I saw "movies", but that didn't list the columns I need.
I read the "help" on the metadata pane, but therein is stated that only AVI and WMV are supported.
I don't have time to learn how to use DOpus from the beginning before the sale is over. Could you please tell me if it is now possible to show the columns "length" "broadcast date" "recording date" and "episode title" in a lister pane and, if so, how to do it? If it works, I'll purchase for sure!
