Hi,
Sorry - feel slightly daft posting so soon into my Opus 12 Light experience, but having installed and opened Opus 12 Light I find the menus and toolbars different from (eg) the video demo and the manual.
In particular I don't have a "flat" view button (just the drop down Folder list and the Navigation lock button.
And menus on the left I have File Edit Tools Settings (but no FTL)
I suspect there is an obvious answer, but I'm afraid I can't think of it (and a forum search didn't reveal similar problems I could find...)
The video was recorded using the Pro version, and similarly the manual is written with the Pro version in mind. Flat View isn't available in the Light version which is why the button is not there for you.
See Light vs Pro for a description of the differences between the two versions.
I was looking at the "Opus 12 light edition - what's new" video (eg here: youtube.com/watch?v=3g5UB_746nA ) which starts "If you're in Windows 10 it looks like this"... (including the things I thought were missing)
Might be worth a different video and/or manual (though at least I know now)
The video was made for Pro originally, but we then needed a Light version and edited out the parts which didn't apply, while still having it serve to highlight the changes from Opus 11 Light to Opus 12 Light.
Nothing that the Light video explicitly mentions should be missing from Light, but there are some background/incidental details which are part of Pro and were too difficult to edit out.
(There are actually a couple of features in the Pro video which are in the Light version but got edited out of the Light video because the screen when they were being discussed had a lot of other things which aren't in Light. Had to make a call in a few places.)
We considered re-making it from scratch, but with so many different, short parts edited together in quick succession, it would have taken days, unfortunately.
Ideally we would have a more general "introduction to Opus" video for completely new users, as the highlights of changes from 11 to 12 don't tell the whole story for Light or Pro if you don't already know what Opus 11 does (and doesn't) do. We may make that in the future (I'd certainly like to) but wouldn't have been able to get it ready in time for the Humble Bundle.
Thanks for such a quick response - I feel slightly old as the whole Opus thing brings back memories of my Amiga days... but will now look around the light version and see what it can do
