I noticed some strange behaviour when doing e.g. copy- or move-operations between HD-Drives and a Mobile Device (Active Sync).
Example:
Copy files with drag'n'drop > Ok (AS-converting-window appears)
Copy/Move files with button > AS window appears, but also DOpus progress-window. After progress is finished, a DOpus error message (can't find files) appears. Also files that should be moved were only copied but not deleted from source.
I found with things that provide their own virtual folders, and aren't real filesystems, drag & drop was more reliable than using the copy etc. buttons.
Drag & drop lets the thing you drop on handle the copy, so whatever weird things ActiveSync needs to happen will be done because ActiveSync is in charge of the operation.
Using the copy button means Opus tries to copy the files to the destination folder in the usual way, which may not work.
Fingers crossed. But there seems to be an extremely high correlation between people who write software that runs on or interacts with a mobile device and unforgivably awful software.
(I just changed phones and have a brand new set of stupid design decisions, made by people who clearly never USE these things, to get used to. None of which are due to restricted memory or CPU power, which would be forgivable. The PC-side syncing software always sucks, too, for phones, PDAs and DAPs (except the few which let you simply copy files over to them like a HDD)... Sigh!)
For syncing phones try "Mobile Master". I've got an SE-Phone, works fine (cable and BT).
For PDA-filetransfers there's a tool called "Card Export", which switches PDA from AS-Mode to USB-Mode. Works fine with WM2003 and should work with WM5 (unfortunately not with my Axim X51v, so I have to use a card-reader for these nice breakable-plastic-designed SD-Cards )
Same issue also applied to mtp:// file operations. I found it using own hot-key for move selected files level up. Please see attached video. Because of screen recording limitations context menus and separate windows can't be shown, so I made buttons on the toolbar to show operations I make.
At 1:09 appears Confirm File Replace dialog:
After pressing Replace button error occurs:
Wrong function. (1)
And so on...
Can this issue be resolved? Hot-keys are more usable than drag'n'drop for me...
Please send us the crash logs and we can see if it's a bug in Opus or something else interfering (e.g. antivirus).
If you're using MTP, see the FAQ on MTP and phones and consider switching to FTP or SFTP as they're more reliable. MTP support in Windows is still a mess.
