Is it possible for the mouse to NOT auto select what it is hoovering over?
Unless Preferences / File Displays / Mouse / Single click to open an item (point to select - does not apply to Power mode) has been turned on, hovering the mouse will not select anything.
You may be confusing the "hot" indication, which just highlights the item the mouse is over (and nothing more) with actual selection (which is a completely independent concept).
The hot indication is purely cosmetic, and purely for the duration the mouse is over the item.
Thanks! You are right!
It was that way in detail mode.
Now that I am in Powermode with Always in keyboard mode checked it isn't behaving like that anymore.
Neither of those should make a difference here.
Turning off Preferences / Display / Options / Use visual style to draw items (overrides selection colors) would stop the hot item highlight, since it is part of the Windows visual style.

Right! Awesome feature!
Is it possible to NOT select when I mouse click to activate a left or right panel?
Right now when I click inside left or right panel just to select that panel, it auto selects what I clicked.

Ok, I found the solution is these options:
- Allow file selection when clicking to activate Lister
- Allow file selection when clicking to switch source/destination state
However, when I click a second time in that lister. I make a selection.
Is it possible to NEVER select when leftmouse clicking inside a panel? But still be able to replace focusbar?
Using Power Mode, you can configure the mouse buttons more extensively, under Preferences / File Display Modes / Power Mode Buttons.
It won't affect other modes (Details, Thumbnails, etc.)

Thanks leo, I looked into it.
The setup is almost as I want to, and am used to. Almost for one thing:
I am in Powermode + Always in keyboard mode checked.
I have customised my functionkeys. F3 key to View, F4 key Edit, F8 delete
Unfortunatelly I noticed that I cannot open a file with my functionkeys without selecting it first, other then with Enterkey.
So even if the focusbar is over a file, I cannot use my functionkeys on that file.
Is there a way that I CAN use my functionkeys while just hoovering my focusbar over? So without having to select first or press other keys first? I guess there must be command sequences to customise these functionkeys?
I tried
Select {file$}
Show FILE
Doesnt work.
I don't know of a way to do that.
Why do you need to go to such lengths to avoid selecting anything?

I am used to NC-like filemanagers.
They hoover without selecting and still they can use fileoperations on these hooverd files/folders. No need for selecting first.
I only use select when more than one files are involved. To delete, move or copy mainly.
But when its only 1 file/folder, then hoovering over was sufficiant to open it or whatever.
I am trying to imitate this in fact.
But unfortunatelly those filemanagers lack some funtions that I ike in Opus.
Maybe time to get used to how Opus works then
Hehe...I know, its not a big deal.
