I have a music collection of some 280Gb/2800 albums; all at some time have had their file names modified to suit my library layout/structure. If a name change is not allowed its been a user problem in not ensuring that the file is not being used by another program e.g. WMP. Yesterday I created mp3 files of 2 CD's I'd just purchased, no problems; however when I came to modify the filename to suit my library it would not allow this to occur. I have checked through the file properties & am unable to see anything that is preventing this; I've re-booted both DOPUS12 & the system all to no effect! Something has changed or been changed that exceeds my minimal user skillset & as I mentioned earlier, this has not been a problem with ANY of my previous mp3 file creations.
Once again, I'd greatly appreciate being politely guided in the right direction!
Many thanks
Hi,
Did same case happen on Explorer? Also maybe this tiny tools can help you to find actual program have lock to your MP3 files. Try: https://lockhunter.com/
Many thanks for your response; as I only use DOPUS I had not checked whether it was the same in Explorer, however, playing around with Lockhunt plus copying & pasting the files, all now Aok! I have no idea what was causing the issue, Lockhunt did not display any linked processes but having actioned their unlock plus copying & pasting has done the trick.
I suppose there comes a point where resolving the problem is of more value than why…………..
All the best
Murray Maxwell
PS
of interest, even having corrected the file names, dragging the file to a new location was not allowed; so once again copying & pasting did the trick!
