I am using Opus in Windows 8 in place of the missing Start menu. It works pretty well except for a few long-time irritations that I would really like to see resolved.
I have Opus loading from one of my Logitech G700 mouse buttons which is much easier then double-clicking on the Desktop. The main problem with this approach is that every time I click the mouse button I get another copy of my default Lister opening on the Taskbar; after awhile, the Taskbar becomes full of duplicate Listers. This command used to work in a shortcut in earlier versions of Opus but I can’t get it to work in Opus 10…. "C:\Program Files\Directory Opus\dopusrt.exe" /cmd GO NEW LASTACTIVELISTER. Any ideas?
What I want is a command that will work in a shortcut (or my mouse button) similar to the… "From the Desktop/Double-click on the Desktop/Bring the last active Lister to the front (New Default Lister is no Listers open)"
The Logitech Setpoint Software doesn't seem to be able to run an application with command line options. You should get it working by specifying a global hotkey for your command and assigning this to your mouse button.
Yes, I have long ago discovered that switches do not work in Logitech buttons so... I have also tried it in a desktop shortcut (completely bypassing the Logitech keys) and it does not work there either.
Maybe it's not working correctly on windows 8, which is in a beta state and currently not officially supported but the command is working fine and exactly as it should here on Windows 7 64bit.
Probably someone also using Win 8 can test and confirm this issue.
By the command, I assume you are talking about "C:\Program Files\Directory Opus\dopusrt.exe" /cmd GO NEW LASTACTIVELISTER and not actually double-clicking on the desktop?
I just tried the command "C:\Program Files\Directory Opus\dopusrt.exe" /cmd GO NEW LASTACTIVELISTER in a Windows 7 x64 shortcut and it does work correctly; no multiple Listers opening... just what I want.
As previously mentioned, it does not work in my Logitech mouse button. Anyone have any ideas how to make that happen.
