Multiple user profiles

My installation (from Win 7 to Win 8 to Win 8.1) has always been set at installation as a single profile for all users. I now want private profiles for each user, but can't find a relevant help topic or post which outlines how to make this change. How do I change "all users" to "only this user"?

I am asking because I want one profile to connect to a local server, and the other to not look for that local server when I am away from the office. This is related to archiving requirements for emails, and each user each has a different email profiles.

Go to Settings / Preferences, then from the File menu choose the Change Configuration Mode command.

Thank you. Worked fine. Would not have intuitively clicked on the "File" menu, it appeared to me to be just a label.

Now have the issue that custom icons on specific folders are not showing. I once fixed this, but can't see how to do it now. Your help is appreciated!

It's probably Preferences / Folders / Folder Display / Show generic icons for....
