Native display of Computer problem

I recently changed folder options for Computer and started to experience problems with grouping hard disks partitions (one SSD).

When I open Computer it always displays correctly grouped disks.

But after some time - sometimes several seconds, sometimes ~30 seconds, one or both disks are classified as unspecified.

This happens on two computers with Win7 and newest DOpus beta installed.

My configuration:

If you switch into details mode and turn off grouping, what does it show as the filesystem for those drives?

What does Explorer show?

Please note that now I'm on the other computer but same problem happens here.

Grouping on, just after opening lister or refreshing with F5:

After about 1 second I see (on this computer it happens really quickly, I had to be fast to get this screenshot  ):

Grouping off - everything is OK:

Explorer says it's just "local disk":

We've not been able to reproduce this so far.

Does it only happen when you have a phone plugged in? That seems to be a common element between the two machines you're seeing it on.

I used Fn keyboard shortcut to disable bluetooth in my notebook and all drives except C and D disappeared. But they are still grouped in "unspecified" category (despite if I change to details view it says it's filesystem is NTFS).

Thanks for trying that!

On my side, I've tried more things, including switching Windows to Polish (in case there was something to do with the Type strings), but still no luck reproducing it.

In case it's to do with the folder format, could you zip up and attach this config file:

/dopusdata/Formats/shell.off

(There shouldn't be anything private in there, but you can look in a text editor to double-check. At least for me, it's just a list of columns and other details about how the Computer and MTP folders are displayed.)

For your information: both computers have SSD drive.
shell.zip (568 Bytes)

Thanks!

Sadly, it still works fine for me. :frowning:

Also with my original config (of course):

If you turn on Show empty disk drives for the computer folder (the checkbox near the middle of the last screenshot of the first post), does that make a difference to what happens?

The previous beta had some changes to how empty drives are detected/updated, so they might be related, I guess.

Also, is the problem only there when grouping by Filesystem? What happens if you group by Type?

If I turn on showing empty disk drives, DVD drive appears and all DVD, C and D are grouped in "unspecified" group.

Grouping by type works ok. C and D are classified as hard disk drives and DVD as drive with removable storage.
I will use this as a workaround for now.
