New drive, can't delete it

Hello:

I suddenly have a new drive (N; last letter used) with the same data as drive H (although not exactly the same size, which indicates that N was created a day or two ago). When I try to delete drive N in Dopus, it says "An error occurred reading folder: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. (1392)".

I do not know how the drive was created (it could certainly have been something I did without knowing that I did it). Drive N does not show up in Disk Management, but all other drives are accounted for there. Drive C is an SSD, all other drives reside on a regular 2 TB drive.

Would be grateful to get some tips on how to delete drive N (I have backed up drive H, and imaged C-I last night).

Regards,

Hans L

Want to correct: the error message occurs when I left-click on drive N, not when I try to delete. When I right-click on N, and try Format, it says "The disk is write protected."

Just realized that maybe restarting the computer would solve the problem. And it did.

I would still be interested in getting an idea what might have happened, if anyone has such an idea

It's unlikely to have been anything to do with Opus. Opus just shows the drives that the OS reports are there.

Sounds like you reassigned the drive to a new letter and the old letter remained until you rebooted.

The new drive, N, disappeared, and the old, H, remained after reboot. N was corrupted. I should have looked in Windows Explorer before reboot, but I forgot.

In any event, Leo, all now seems to be well.
