New external drives don't appear until restart (elevated/administrator)

I'm trying to organise the mountain of pen drives, compact flash and SD cards I have.
Since the latest update DO won't recognise a new card unless I close the program fully and then reopen it.
If I close the program (without removing it from memory) it still says it can't see the drive.
I can't help but feel this is something stupid I'm doing.

Make sure Opus isn’t running elevated. (You’ll see “ADMINISTRATOR” in the main window title if it is.)
