I've recently bought DOpus - not least because of its viewer capability. I'd be grateful for a response to a few quick questions:
I've installed DOpus on a USB stick, and copied the Stellent viewers to the USB stick. DOpus can use them when they are "located" manually (Settings/Viewer Plugins/Multiview/Configure/Locate), but if I subsequently use the stick on another PC where it gets a different drive letter, DOpus can't find them by itself with manual intervention. Is there any way of setting a relative path to the Stellent directory?
Most of my music is in FLAC format. If I browse to a FLAC file it is viewed in a hex window - no metadata. The Audio Tags viewer is installed and enabled, but doesn't seem to be invoked. Am I doing something wrong, or can DOpus not handle OGG tags?
Last but not least - in normal browsing, DOpus hides system files and directories. I've gone to Setting/Preferences/Folders/Options, and "Hide protected operating system files..." is not ticked. Where do I tell it to show all files/folders?

Probably not a lot of help, but as far as I can determine, they are shown by default.
It doesn't take too much effort to create a button that toggles between hiding and showing hidden files:
Set HIDEFILTERATTR h
or
<?xml version="1.0"?>
Toggle hidden files
Show/hide hidden files
#showhidden
Set HIDEFILTERATTR h
I like to have this available and use it all the time.

a newcomer, be prepared for a long and slow clamber up a steep learning curve. The manual and help file are written for people who already <?Xknow what they are doing. But this place is, mostly, the best source of support you will find anywhere.
Something bonkers happened when I was submitting this. Not sure what happened. But I cannot edit my message, another unique feature for DOpus users, and life is too short to recall what I wrote.
Hardly. Most of the forums and comment systems I use on the net do not allow editing either. (e.g. The forum you're a moderator on yourself.) I think the unique thing about Opus users is that some of them can't stop complaining about not being able to edit, despite the reasons being made clear, not that they can't edit.
I can't easily test it at the moment but it might be possible by editing ConfigFiles\Plugins\multiview.oxc on the USB drive and changing the path in there so one relative to the Opus dir, or possibly to the root of the drive.
Opus can't currently edit FLAC or OGG tags, and won't display them in the viewer panel, but it does support them in the file display (you can add columns showing various music tags and metadata) as well as when renaming files (e.g. renaming or moving files into directories named after the artist and album title).

I wasn't complaining. I know how things work here. Just making excuses for my own incompetence.
As to other places, if Yahoo! sets the rules, we are stuck with them. In any case, the one you refer to is essentially a mailing list. You interact by email rather than on a bulletin board. I would happily allow post post editing there, but it does not seem possible.
I described this one as unique" because just about everywhere else that I raise my head allows editing. Over here, where I moderate, and here, where I just visit, for example, I can edit to my heart's content. There may well be plenty of places that do not allow this. I just do not seem to visit them.
