I will not claim that I have done exhaustive research of every single post in the forums but I have searched a vast majority of them that could be considered on the same topic (by the way – the majority of these are over a decade old) and none of what I have read offer any solution to the issue.
What is happening with me, is that when I cut a file/folder/anything, there is absolutely no dimming of the object/s and I just have to rely on faith that it actually is cut and ready to be pasted somewhere. I can't pinpoint when this behavior started but I've been tolerating it for some time and I just got a wild hair and decided to address it now if it's at all possible. I went to the options and nothing seems to really address the specific matter so instead of willy-nilly going around changing things I'm just deferring to your expertise before I start doing some Frankenstein experimenting. You have always amazed me with your speed and accuracy in the past and from what I can tell this is actually one that you have not truly been able to resolve yet. As always, thank you for your help and assistance and if there's anything I need to provide for you just let me know.
If you do the same in File Explorer, do the files dim there?
Do you have any tools installed which change how the clipboard works?
Have you tried Opus with a default config? (Use Settings > Backup & Restore to backup your config, then uninstall and reinstall Opus. Once done testing, restore the config backup.)
Leo - yes I do see the icon dim in explorer. I have a windows gadget that is installed that simply monitors the clipboard and shows what is currently active and the history of what has been on the clipboard. Could this be it? I never even considered this. I will save my config and load a default config to see if your idea works.
Rcoleman - yes that is what I am expecting and not seeing. There is normally a dimming of the icon and I thought text as well to act as a visual reminder/indicator and I see nothing at all.
I will do so when I return from work today. Thank you for the recommendations, I will respond shortly.
It could be involved. Try disabling the clipboard monitor, and also make sure Opus isn't running elevated (it'll say "administrator" in the window title if it's elevated).
