Unfortunately I didn't found such options in the preferences menu of the program.
I hope that is possible as the program replaces the windows explorer to be able to stuck with only one copy of the program in the memory every time I click on a folder.
Not as it is by default to open a new instance of the program.
I reviewed the option to open the new folders in new tabs but that's not the same thing.
I need the newly opened window be able to take the active in program window - I think it's called lister.
Apologize for the not so good english but I hope that you'll understand what I mean.
There is only ever one instance of Opus in memory. That instance may have multiple windows open but you'll only see one copy of dopus.exe in task manager.
So re-using a single window for external folder launches won't save any memory or speed things up as it's just opening a new window, not a new copy of the program.
If you want to because you don't want extra windows on the screen, I think the option to open folders in new tabs is the only one at the moment.
If the PC was so low on memory that opening an extra tab could make much difference then I think you'd be running into all sorts of problems either way, so it's not worth worrying about from a memory perspective; only if you want to avoid new tabs/windows because they cause screen clutter.
I'm confused both by the original post and the responses. The original post says, in part

By default, why would clicking on a folder open either a new window or tab?
bub3d, what, exactly, are you doing that causes a new window or a new tab when you don't want one?
I think he means when clicking on a folder outside of Opus. That always opens either a new window or a new tab (depending on configuration) and there isn't currently an option to make it take over an existing window instead.
