Open xlsx(excel) file cannot edit

I open a excel file from opus 10, filename is ABC.xlsx for example, then excel open a copy ABC1.xlsx, the original file did not open and I can't edit it.
My OS is windows 7 32bit.

Which version of Excel are you using?

And, in the viewer pane, what does it say next to the filename? (You may need to make the window/pane wider to see it.) Does it say "Microsoft Excel" or does it say "Microsoft Office", or something else?

EXCEL 2007
viewer pane say "Microsoft Office"

Are you able to view the same file within Windows Explorer's preview pane?

If not, the file may be one which the Excel preview handler rejects, which means Windows Explorer can't view it and means Opus will fall back on using Excel itself to view it, instead of the preview handler. (At which point, it's like trying to open the same file in two instances of Excel, which Excel will not allow due to old compatibility constraints of the Excel file format).

On the other hand, if you can view the file in Windows Explorer then you may have turned off the Excel preview handler within Opus. You can turn it back on via the Opus ActiveX viewer plugin's configuration. You'd probably remember if you had done this in the past, so if it doesn't seem familiar than it's probably not that.

Yes, I can view the file(xlsx or xls) in Windows Explorer, I had try to disable all plugins in Preferences/Viewer/Viewer Plugins, then the file cannot preview, but also open with a copy(abc1.xlsx). I found Preview Handlers/MS Office Excel previewer has an option "Open Temporary Copies", there is no difference whether I choose it or not. the viewer pane show filename "abc.xlsx(MS Office Excel or Microsoft Office)", it seems that the file is opened at background soon as I click it even viewer pane is not opened. Word file doc or docx has not this problem.

Ah okay, so this is unrelated to the viewer pane. My mistake, I assumed it was to do with the viewer due to something that happened with very old versions of Excel.

I'm not sure what is going on really, since all Opus does is pass the filename to Excel and tell it to open it. What Excel then does with the file is up to it.

Ok! I'v fixed the problem. The xlsx file is linked with words and Excel, xlsx file open with has word and EXCEL two options. I delete xlsx file's WORD relevance in regedit editor, and repair EXCEL 2007, solved the problem. It cause a new xlsx icon problem, but is not serious. Thank you for your reply!
