I've set & saved a lister layout (resize columns automatically etc) which I'd like to use every time DO is opened,from a click on the tray icon,a double click on the desktop AND/OR a click on desktop icons for My Computer,My Documents or whatever.
However,what's currently happening is this:-
No probs whatsoever using desktop double-click or systray icon,everything's (more or less)exactly how I want the thing,but clicking ANY desktop icon seemingly opens DO in its original form,ie without my saved changes.
I've spent ages mucking about with the thing now,seemingly to no avail,when all I want is for it to replace explorer,but with a few additional options enabled,so I can actually get on with something productive.
If anyone has any ideas how to save my changes PERMANENTLY it'd be much appreciated.
That's exactly what I've already done many times abr,but it still only 1/2 works.
Anyway,I've dumped the latest version,cleaned out the registry,and installed an old version (9.1.1.0) from last year,as I know that usually just about functions.
Everything's fine again now,though I do know it'll crash & burn once or twice a month,just like explorer does,but I can live with that.
Layouts are not opened when you double-click folder icons. The Default Lister is instead, and what format the Default Lister uses may depend on your Folder Formats.
Try opening your layout then using Settings -> Set as Default Lister to save it as the Default Lister.
