Opus 10 Help file

Hello, Is there an update to the Directory Opus help file ?
I am running 10.0.1.0.4185.x86
Alot of the help file has entries like

"[Please note: unfortunately this Help file was not able to be completed in time for the scheduled release of
Directory Opus 10. Rather than delay the release of the software we decided to release what had been completed;
the remainder of this Help file will be provided with an update to Directory Opus 10 to be released soon..]"

Glenn

Parts of the help file are being added in each update. If you download 10.0.1.3 beta (link in my signature) you'll have a more complete helpful, although I believe it is still not completely finished.

The Opus 9 manual can be read online to fill in many of the gaps while the 10 manual is still being updated: gpsoft.com.au/docs.html

The online DO10 documentation is here:

If one clicks on the "Search"-button (top left corner) and enters search term < unfortunately >, the search returns a list (of length L1) with all .. :wink: ..

Compare this length with L2 (measured at some future point of time), build the difference, and divide it by the time dt passed (between L1 and L2). The result is a "speed". Then divide L2 by this speed number. The outcome is a rough projection of completion time T (from the point of time on when L2 was measured). In a pseudo-mathematical equation its like:

T = L2 / ((L2-L1)/dt)

The time will be negative, because ... :confused: (Maybe i got something wrong here lol)
Anyway, need to go now. School. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have you done a degree in bogus statistics? :slight_smile:

no, but i am having definitely a good time on this forum hehe
life and work is also (a little) about fun, or it should be at least.

so i contribute to the amusement when i can.
but now i really have to leave. school bus isnt waiting!
Have a great day everybody!! :grin:

It would be a good idea to include a button for this in the appropriate slot in the "Menu" toolbar.

I've just added it myself, down in the depths of the "Help" button. In among the "Directory Opus on the Web" entries.

Is it any different from the one included with the installed package?

Being on-line, the stuff at the end of the link has a good chance of being "fresher" than anything that shipped with the latest version of the software.

Until Leo mentioned it, I hadn't noticed that each new release adds entries to the Help file.

If it isn't in there, it might be worth adding a brief one liner to the release notes. If nothing else, it reminds people that it is happening.
