Opus 9: USB3 external drive making opus unresponsive

Hello

The issue is as follows: When plugging in a USB3 external HDD, Directory Opus (v9.5.2) freezes for a long time (unresponsive for >15sec) before displaying the drive.

This is while Windows Explorer displays the drive immediately.

I have checked with Process Explorer, and it seems that it's dopuslib.dll!SaveZipCompressedFile+0x4310 that is "hanging" Directory Opus.

Many thanks in advance.

That's just the nearest exported function, but the offset is so large it will be in different code. (Newer versions have some dummy function exports to avoid this common misconception, for what it's worth.)

Opus 9 is over a decade old and won't be getting any more updates. If the problem also affects current versions then we can look at a process dump to see what is happening.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I believe to have found the culprit: it's the Asus USB3 Boost utility (U3BoostSrv64.exe). Uninstalled it, and it now works fine under Dopus (still strange that it wasn't affecting Win Explorer at all, but no matter).

Sorry, should've tried that before posting.
