It's OK with local files/folders, but there is problem if the remote ftp site has chinese folders, you just can not enter. There is also problem to download/upload chinese name files to remote ftp site. This has been disturbing me a lot. any ideas?
I am using 8.2.1.0 Unicode, my system is winXP pro english version. I have set non-unicode language to chinese for proper display of some chinese programme in the contral panel.
I don't know whether this is a problem with Opus FTP or not but to help GPSoft narrow it down, can you confirm that you can work with the same files on the same site using a different FTP program?
I figure it's worth ruling out the possibility that the FTP server doesn't support the characters. As I say, I don't know whether or not Opus has a problem in this area, but isolating the problem can save time.

Yes, defenitely can. I can access the very ftp site using cuteftp and flashget's site exployer. And FYI, this problem is universial, i.e., it happens to all the ftp sites with chinese name folders. Opus can't enter those folders, however using other ftp clinet they are accessable.
