Permission deny write on/off for folders

Hi fellow DO's (sounds like Homer Simpson!),

I would like to switch on or off write protection to several folders with a button or drop down command. Please I will need detailed instructions. This is so I am in control of what is added to the folder for backup and update protection.

I am using version 11.19 x64

If you want to modify the folder's permissions to prevent any files being created or written to, that should be possible with a button which runs icacls.exe or similar.

Is that what you mean by write protection, or something else?
