My networked media player adds several files to every video I send to it (descriptions, hidden folders, artwork...), and it makes a mess out of the folders.
So, is it possible to hide certain types of files and hidden ones in a folder, on a permanent basis?
You might have a look in -> settings -> preferences -> folders -> folder view -> global wildcard filters. You can hide
items by using a wildcards like (.artwork|.txt|.m3u|.etc).
Also, you can hide things on a per folder base, in the folder options.
Thanks for your reply! I had actually found "global wildcard filters", but I seem to have no clue about what you mean "folder options" for the per-folder case... Could you elaborate?
See Folder Options in the manual, and scroll down to where it is talking about the Filters tab.
(In theory, this link should take you directly to the part about the filter tab. In reality, jumping to a particular part of the page is still unreliable in every single web browser, so you'll probably end up somewhere else on the page. Doh.)
Ehm... not sure if that's what you're talking about, but: right-click in a folder->view->folder options. Doh. Wonder how I missed this before, going to try it now - though I see no option for recursive application...
If you forget, you can also set the option later with "Use as the default format for all sub-folders" option under Preferences -> Folders -> Folder Formats -> Edit (the format in question) -> Options (tab).
