I've long been accustomed to using the Play button on the Lister Context Menu to play sounds files on the fly, like so:
Recently, I decided to add the Play button to one of my main toolbars, since I use it often enough to want to save myself a click:
So far, so good. But my default lister opens up to My Computer — and the Play button is grayed out/inaccessible. I thought perhaps it would spring to life when I navigated to another folder, but it doesn't. It remains grayed out for the entire session:
Anyone else noticed this behavior? Worth a bug report to GP Software?
Out of curiosity, what version of Opus are you on, and - if you enter into customize mode and then simply escape out of customize mode, does the button come to life?
There was an older issue with a similar symptom related to the Cli DOSPROMPT button... and more recently the same sort of thing for another user with a Print toolbar button. Not sure if that recent one was figured out yet... but either way, yeah I'd say it's worth a bug report, but I'm unable to reproduce it using 10.0.3.0 - I get the ghosted out button when opening My Computer, but it comes alive when I change folders.
Oops! I should've mentioned that in my original post! 10.0.3.0.4392 / x64
By Jove, it does!
(Not that that "solves" the issue, but it's something I didn't think of or notice on my own. Perhaps it will provide a point of reference for the Opus dev team.)
Curious. Maybe I'm dragging forward some legacy setting or code from v 9.x that keeps it from coming alive?
Either way, it's not a mission-critical function for me — but I thought I should go ahead and report it while it was on my mind. (Report duly filed with DOpus support!)
Update:
I see Leo has checked in and filed his own bug report, too! (Have either of you two slept in the last three years, since I discovered Opus?!)
